Prince Harry flew out of London late on Monday, April 28, to return to Australia, missing the birth of his new niece or nephew, the hotly anticipated Royal Baby number two.
Kate Middleton and Prince William's second child is now five days overdue, but while Prince Harry, 30, had hoped to meet the newest family member during a whistle-stop return to the U.K. this weekend, he now won't get to meet his brother's second-born until mid-May.
Harry returned to England on the evening of Saturday, April 25, after attending Gallipoli events in Turkey with his father Prince Charles. The handsome royal made an appearance at the London Marathon on Sunday, April 26, and visited his brother and sister-in-law at their home in Kensington Palace. But despite stringing out his stay as long as he possibly could by taking a late evening flight out of London on Monday, Harry has had to return to Australia to start a second phase with the Australian Army units in Perth and Sydney.
He will not return to the U.K. now until after his official tour of New Zealand, which runs from May 9 until May 16.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge continue to await the birth of their second child, who is following in brother Prince George's footsteps by waiting until well past his or her due date before making an arrival.
But although he can't be in the country for the birth, Prince Harry has already revealed he's hoping Prince George's sibling will be a girl.
"I can’t wait to see my brother suffer more," the cheeky Prince revealed back in September when news of a second royal baby became public. "And with any luck, if it’s a girl, then he’ll suffer even greater. I’d love to see him try and cope with that!” the excited uncle added.
